Jaipur: The SIT which was set up to investigate the Pehlu Khan mob lynching case submitted its report to the DGP on Monday evening.

The report has not been made public yet. However, it has been said that there were many flaws in the earlier investigation.

According to sources, the SIT has held the officer responsible for the investigation behind the acquittal and the officials who have been appearing in the court.

It was also found that on the basis of lack of evidence, the accused were acquitted, while during the investigation, the evidence was present with the police in a safe manner.
But the investigating officer and the prosecuting officers deliberately hid them.

The video recorded during the lynching was also recovered by the police and investigated but was not presented in the court. The court, while giving a decision in this case, wrote that we give the benefit of doubt to those who are seen in the footage. The mobile from which this video was made was also not recovered.

Pehlu Khan was killed by the mob when he was going back home after buying two cows from Jaipur on April 1, 2017. A charge sheet was filed by the police in the court, in which all the accused were acquitted giving the benefit of doubt.
However, on the order of the court, the Gehlot government formed the SIT and asked to submit the investigation report by September 2.
