Patient's attendants remove ventilator plug for air cooler, man dies

A patient died after his attendants in the hospital removed his ventilator plug to connect an air cooler. Following this, the attendants then misbehaved with the doctors accusing them of not being professionals.

Kota (Rajasthan):A 40-year-old patient, who was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Maharao Bhimsingh Hospital in Rajasthan's Kota, died after his attendants removed the plug of the ventilator to connect an air cooler.

The patient, identified as Vinod Kumar, died as the ventilator stopped working after its battery ran out.

The patient's attendants informed the doctors as they saw Vinod in pain and the doctors found out that the electricity supply of the ventilator was removed.

It, however, worked for 30 minutes on the battery and stopped working after it ran out.

The patient's attendants then misbehaved with the doctors accusing them of not being professionals.

The matter is being investigated, the authorities said.
