Muslims cremate Hindu Sri Lankan woman in Jaipur

In a display of communal harmony, two youths of the Muslim community cremated a Sri Lankan Hindu woman at Adarsh Nagar crematorium. Following her demise, Jama Masjid Committee's Riyaz and Faisal conducted the final rites as per Hindu customs and traditions.

Jaipur: In a display of communal harmony, two youths of the Muslim community cremated a Sri Lankan Hindu woman at Adarsh Nagar crematorium. Following her demise, Jama Masjid Committee's Riyaz and Faisal conducted the final rites as per Hindu customs and traditions.

The woman has been identified as 41-year-old Palika P Fernando, a doctor in an Ayurvedic medical college located near Zorawar Singh Gate. She was living in Jaipur with her husband, Anura Widhanarachchi and her children. At the time of her death, she was pregnant.
