Nagaur (Rajasthan): A BJP district office in Rajasthan's Nagaur has witnessed high drama on Monday as a group of workers, angry over ticket being given to "outsider candidates" for upcoming Panchayat Samiti election.
Miffed over this decision, party workers tied BJP's Bherunda Mandal president and vice-president with ropes and held them hostage for several hours. The incident took place at Bherunda Mandal area in the district.
"BJP workers had been demanding that the party should field a candidate from the supporters of former Cooperative Minister Ajay Singh Kilak, and were saying that on the behest of Rajsamand MP Dia Kumari, the tickets were not given to the Killak supporters. They were angry over the top BJP leadership's this decision. I and vice president had gone to the party office pacify them, but they held us, hostage," said, Rajesh Vaishnav, BJP president, Nagaur.
