Sriganganagar (Rajasthan): The rampage of desert locusts is being continued for the last 10 days in different parts of Rajasthan's Sriganganagar district.
Due to the swarms of locusts, extensive damage of crops has occurred in more than 100 villages of 6 tehsils in the districts.

However, on Friday sources informed that the locusts were moving towards Kesrisinghpur and Padampur due to which farmers got afraid.
According to reports, so far as the authorities have not been successful to counter the locust menace, as they are not able to eliminate a large number of insects.
As a result, the farmers have expressed their displeasure in this regard.
To prevent the swarms of locusts, farmers themselves took various measures including playing the drums and spraying pesticides with tractor-driven spray pumps.
However, sources said that after being informed the staff of the Agriculture Department reached the village. Farmers suggested the government spray pesticides through helicopter to prevent the swarms of locusts.

The farmers express their doubt towards the government's role by alleging that if the government is serious, then they took some effective measures.
In such a situation, the farmers would protest by tying a black band on January 26.
