Kota (Rajasthan):As a goodwill gesture, Rajasthan's Kota Police on Sunday went beyond the call of duty and celebrated the first birthday of a one-year-old baby girl whose family was unable to go out for shopping due to ongoing lockdown.

Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Mil and other police personnel of Kota were sent to the home of the girl named Dhanika with the cake brought by a PCR team. Dhanika was conveyed birthday wishes on behalf of the district police and was presented with other celebration materials.

A pre-recorded "Happy Birthday" song was also played on a "Bluetooth speaker" during the celebrations.

Dhanika's parents appreciated the initiative of Rajasthan police and expressed gratitude for helping the family making their child's first birthday a special one.

"For parents, the first birthday (of their child) is emotional and very important. Because of the present situation, we did not arrange a get-together. So, I am thanking Kota police for taking such initiatives to make us happy," said Arun Singh, Dhanika's father.
