Rajasthan water crisis: Water to last for another 10 days only

With a grim situation in Rajasthan's Jodhpur, water levels in the Kalana and Tattasagar reservoirs have begun decreasing.

Reportedly, the water in these reservoirs might last for another eight to ten days.

People in the state are fetching water from far away places. Also, villages are being supplied with private water tankers to resolve the acute water crisis.

Although there are water pipelines in the cities, there is no water supply.

The water department has been supplying water once a day in the city areas.

City SI, Dinesh Kumar said that around 270 cusecs of water being released from the Indira Gandhi canal to deal with the water shortage.

As villages require water too, there is a scarce amount of water left for the cities.

Kumar also said the demand for water has increased due to the heat.

Suryakanta Vyas, a BJP MLA from Sauragar said there is a shortage of water in the city.

The work of laying pipelines is under construction. Apart from this, efforts are being made to supply water wherever the pipelines have been installed.
