Ajmer:Causing further embarrassment for the Congress' central leadership ahead of the Rajasthan assembly polls, former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot started his 'Jan Sangharsh Yatra' from Ajmer to Jaipur this afternoon on issues of corruption and paper leak.
Notably, Pilot is starting his yatra from Ajmer instead of eastern Rajasthan, which is considered his stronghold. Political observers said this is apparently to counter his opponents who claim that Pilot's popularity is restricted to the Gujjar-dominated areas of the eastern parts of the state. A total of 125 km will be covered in five days during the road march.
Last week, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot at a programme in Dholpur had said that former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and Congress leaders Kailash Meghwal and Shobharani Kushwah helped in saving his government by not supporting the conspiracy that was hatched to topple him in 2020. Gehlot had also asked the Congress MLAs who took money at that time to return it to Union minister Amit Shah. A few days later, Pilot refuted the allegation and hit back at Gehlot saying it seemed that Vasundhara Raje and not Sonia Gandhi was his leader.
