Jaisalmer administration bans night movement near Indo-Pak border

The Jaisalmer district administration has prohibited the movement of people residing near the Indo-Pak border under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code 1973. District Collector Ashish Modi has also banned Pakistani local SIMs within the Indian border.

Jaisalmer: In view of the suspected infiltration, smuggling, and anti-social activities, Jaisalmer district administration prohibited the movement of people residing near the Indo-Pak border under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code 1973.

District Collector Ashish Modi has issued an order to ban public activities such as restrictions on the use of Pakistani local SIMs within the Indian border. The order strictly prohibits the movement of people living in a 5 km range of the Indo-Pak border here from 6 pm to 7 am till September 27, 2020.

Prior permission would be required from the district administration for any activity, if urgent, Ashish Modi said.

The order also made it mandatory to record calls at the telephone booths situated near the border. In violation of these orders, action will be taken against the person concerned under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
