Jaipur: As nation mourns the tragic death of a pregnant wild elephant in Kerala, who died after eating pineapple filled with firecrackers, tributes kept pouring in from all quarters. In solidarity, a group of elephants and mahouts from Rajasthan's capital city paid floral tributes near Amber fort on Thursday.
They garlanded the image of the Kerala elephant, which shows the elephant standing in a river minutes before its death. The picture continues to haunt human consciousness amidst the ongoing pandemic. The Rajasthan tuskers also raised their trunks in tribute.
The wild pachyderm, which had strayed into the inhabited areas from Silent Valley National Park, had died on May 27th while standing in a river here, after it suffered from severe injuries in its mouth and jaw due to the cracker explosion.
