Jaipur: Girl gang-raped after being offered 'lift'

A girl was gang-raped by unidentified assailants after offering her a lift. The incident happened in the Bhankrota police station area in Jaipur. As per the police report, the girl along with her boyfriend had gone to a party in a hotel located in the Bhankrota police station area.

Jaipur:A girl was gang-raped by unidentified assailants after offering her a lift. The incident happened in the Bhankrota police station area in Jaipur. As per the police report, the girl along with her boyfriend had gone to a party in a hotel located in the Bhankrota police station area.

During the party, the girl got into a fight with her boyfriend, after which he left the girl stranded 200 feet from the bypass under the Bhankrota police station area. A passing vehicle with three unidentified youths offered to give her a lift. The youths took the girl to a secluded area and gang-raped the girl. Around 3 am, the girl stopped a car on the road and narrated her ordeal. The car driver took the victim to Bhankrota police station.

The police took the victim for a mandatory medical checkup. The girl's boyfriend has been taken into custody and is being interrogated. At the same time, police are trying to nab the rape accused by scanning the footage of CCTV cameras in the area. The police have also nabbed some youths into custody, based on the victim's statement. DCP West Pradeep Mohan Sharma is investigating and monitoring the matter.
