Inter-state drug racket busted in Rajasthan, 4 arrested

Four people allegedly involved in inter-state smuggling of drugs were arrested by Jaipur police on Sunday. The police have recovered Rs 6 lakh from their possession and a luxury car and seized at least 64 kgs of drugs.

Jaipur: The Jaipur police on Sunday busted an inter-state gang of drug smugglers and recovered Rs 6 lakh from their possession and a luxury car.

Commissioner of Police Anand Shrivastav said that, acting on tip off, Jaipur police personnel formed a special task force 'Operation Clean Sweep' under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police Ashok Kumar Gupta, to take stringent action against the supply and sale of drugs in Jaipur city.

The police arrested four people and seized 64 kgs of drugs. Preliminary investigation revealed that the gang was involved in peddling drugs from Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh to several districts of Rajasthan.

"This is a big seizure of drugs by the police, raids were conducted in several areas of Jaipur and we have nabbed four people involved in the supply and sale of drugs.

Those arrested have been identified as Panchmukhi, Karan Sansi, Suraj Bidaya, Ajay kumar and Pankaj Yadav," Police Commissioner Anand Shrivastav said.
