Jaipur: The excise department has caught a truck, which was smuggling liquor, and seized over one thousand packets of liquor bottles, police said.
Illegal liquor seized in Rajasthan An excise department team, led by district excise official Mukesh Devpura, caught the truck with 1325 packets of liquor bottles on the Bhilwara-Chittorgarh national highway.
The truck driver and the smugglers fled the spot after seeing the officials, the police said, adding that the liquor, which was made in Haryana, was either to be supplied to Gujarat or was being brought to Rajasthan in view of the upcoming panchayat elections.
The seized liquor is worth of rupees one crore, the officials said.
