Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan):Hunger strike caused the death of a student in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district which raised a huge protest among other pupils.

Mohit Chaudhary, a resident of Mojas village, about 40 km from Jhunjhunu district headquarters in Rajasthan, started a student agitation in the year 2016 at Government College Morarka.

During the agitation, he started a hunger strike for 5 days, due to which his kidneys were adversely affected.

This struggle in student politics made Mohit the general secretary of the college, but at the same time, a kidney disease haunted him.

Due to poor health, Mohit had to drop out of college.

His family tried it's best to get him all possible treatment but the condition got worse.

In such a situation, he was admitted to SMS Hospital in Jaipur. As both the kidneys were dysfunctional, the family had to spend a huge sum, as much as of Rs. 25 Lakhs.

In this condition, his colleagues campaigned for fundraising on social media and appealed to the people for help.

But, they were not able to collect more than Rs. 2 lakhs.

Meanwhile, Jhunjhunu MP Narendra Khichad posted a video on his Facebook page and said that he will get Mohit treated at Delhi AIIMS as soon as the by-election in Mandawa seat was over.

This video went viral on social media during the polls.

But after that, the MP did not bother about Mohit's condition anyway.

Khichad did not even arrange the required life-saving treatment for Mohit after the polls.

Finally, on October 29, he breathed his last surrounded by his colleagues in the hospital.

Now Mohit's colleagues have decided to agitate against the MP for not keeping his promise of financial assistance as he was well aware of the financial condition of Mohit's family.

For this, a memorandum has been given to the District Collector and warning of protests against the MP has been issued.
