Jaipur (Rajasthan): The Gurjar community is preparing to hit the streets once again from November 1 demanding reservation. However, there seems to be disagreement within the Gurjars over their plan of action.
According to reports, the government and a 41-member delegation from the Gurjar community held extensive talks spanning over seven hours and reached an agreement based on 14 points, following which Gurjar leader Himmat Singh said there was no need for agitation.
Singh said since the government had agreed to all their demands, there was no need for agitation.
According to reports, the delegation granted seven weeks time to the government over the issue of REET recruitment.
Following the talks, Rajasthan Ministers Raghu Sharma and Ashok Chandana addressed a press conference along with Himmat Singh.
Meanwhile, the son of Gurjar leader Kirodi Singh Bainsla said that the community would hold another 'mahapanchayat' at 10 am on Sunday morning to decide on the future course of action, and whether the agitation would begin as scheduled.
Bainsla, at a meeting in Gurla village of Karauli district on Saturday, had said that the movement will begin as scheduled on November 1. Baisla appealed to the people to reach the agitation spot in maximum numbers.
While Gurjar leader Kirodi Singh Bainsla said that he would go ahead and hold the agitation on November 1 with a railway/road blockade from Pilupura in Bharatpur district, a delegation representing 80 villages around Pilupura held talks with the government at the Secretariat today.
