Jaipur:There may be outrage regarding the Hathras rape incident in Uttar Pradesh, but the National Commission for Women (NCW) has targetted Rajasthan and is touring the state criticising Ashok Gehlot Government.
The NCW has alleged the Gehlot Government of being insensitive in the matter related to women's safety and said it failed as a government.
The Commission added that even though Section 144 has been imposed in the state, the ministers of Gehlot government breaking the rules.
Shyamala S. Sundar and Rajula Desai, members of the National Commission for Women, visited Rajasthan on Saturday, during which the team of the Commission met DGP Bhupendra Singh Yadav to discuss the atrocities and violence on women in the state.
The team also presented the figures of Rajasthan in the cases of women atrocities, questioning the law and order of the state and said the atrocities are increasing.

According to the National Crime Bureau, Rajasthan recorded the most number of rape cases of minor children, but the Gehlot government remains unfazed. Even after two years of being formed, the chairperson has not yet been selected for the state women's commission.
In the absence of a chairperson of the State Women's Commission, women have nowhere to go for justice, there are laws for women but women are not getting justice. If the woman goes to the police station to file a lawsuit, they pressurise them to settle outside.
Looking at the figures of the past year in Rajasthan, numerous cases of child abduction and rape have come to the fore. Commission member Shyamala S. Sundar said that today the Commission team met the BJP ministers of the state and asked them to report on the law and order and the atrocities on women in Rajasthan.
Sundar added that even though, the Central Government has run Sakhi Forest Center, the officials and district collector in Rajasthan are not even aware of this.
Answering why the CWC is not at Hathras, the member said that the commission has taken cognizance of the incident at Hathras and a report has been sought from the police officers and district administration. But such incidents are happening continuously in Rajasthan and that's why the commission is more concerned about Rajasthan.

The commission is serious about getting timely justice to the people with whom it has happened, the members emphasized.

Desai said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide justice to women and to preserve their constitutional values, but the government of Rajasthan has completely failed in the case of women's protection. The figures coming out in Rajasthan are frightening and not only in the cases of women atrocities but also in the case of Dalit atrocities, the government has reached record-breaking figures.
Desai added that the information of the sex racket in Sawai Madhopur is under investigation.
