Ajmer (Rajasthan):A fire broke out in a neurosurgery ward of Jawhar Lal Medical college in Ajmer on Thursday morning.

The fire was triggered by a short circuit, eyewitnesses said.

There was no loss of life reported as all the patients were safely evacuated.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames, however, it could not reach the ward that lies inside the hospital.

According to the eyewitnesses, a sudden fire broke out due to a short circuit in the AC located in the Neuro Surgeon Mail Ward, which triggered panic in the ward.

Seeing the fire, there was a stampede in the ward and the doctors dragged the patients out of the ward.

The relatives of the patients have accused the hospital administration of negligence.

In an earlier incident, a patient lost his life after a fire broke out in the Covid-19 ICU of the hospital due to a short circuit.

About a dozen ventilators were burnt to ashes in the fire.
