Churu (Rajasthan): Several people were injured after two groups clashed over past rivalry in Rajasthan's Churu district on Wednesday.
However, the past enmity and the differences brewed and turned into violence as the locals resorted to attacking each other physically at Sardarsahar.
The two sides allegedly resorted to stone-pelting and vehicle vandalism. As the violent mob vandalised vehicles and damaged public properties during the clash, police had to lob eight tear gas shells and enforced Section 144 in the area.
"The clash was the result of an old grudge between Sardarsahar's Ward-24's councillor and his opponent locals of the village. Members of both the sides came against each other and resorted to violence," said Mahendra Dutt Sharma, SHO, Sardarsahar PS.
