Bharatpur: A man and his wife allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Deeg village of Bharatpur district in Rajasthan on Tuesday.
The victims were identified as Jagdish Singh (40) and Suman Devi of the same locality. Jagdish died on the spot while Suman breathed her last while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bharatpur DHH.
According to sources, the matter came to light after some locals heard the screams of the woman this morning and found Jagdish dead on the spot.
Immediately, locals rushed Suman to Bharatpur DHH in critical condition where she succumbed. Meanwhile, Sunil Kumar, brother of the deceased Suman Devi, has accused his sisters-in-law of harassing her physically and mentally, sources said.
However, the exact cause behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained, police suspect that the couple drank pesticide over the trivial feud. Police have registered a case in the matter and investigation is on, sources added.
