Rajasthan: BJP is playing dirty politics over Rajgarh SHO's suicide, retaliates Poonia

Reacting sharply, Congress leader and three-time Olympian Krishna Poonia said that the opposition BJP is playing 'dirty' politics over the Rajgarh SHO Vishnudutt Vishnoi's suicide case. She also demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter.

Churu: After the opposition BJP held Congress MLA Krishna Poonia responsible for the suicide of SHO Vishnudutt Vishnoi in Rajasthan's Churu district, the latter retaliated sharply saying that the opposition is playing 'dirty' politics over the issue.

Releasing a video on social media, three-time Olympian Poonia said it is a matter of shame that BJP has tried to give it a political colour.

I am also grieved by the police officer's suicide and I stand by Vishnoi's family at this hour of grief. I have demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter from chief minister Ashok Gehlot," she said.

Poonia further said that the call details of SHO's phone should be investigated to know what kind of pressure was put on him.

Earlier, the opposition BJP had alleged that Vishnoi’s suicide was due to political pressure and harassment from local Congress MLA Krishna Poonia.

BJP MLA from Churu Rajendra Rathore has demanded a judicial enquiry into the case. He claims that political pressure to get the SHO transferred was talk of the town for the past two months.

Vishnoi committed suicide due to the false charges being made by Krishna Poonia, claimed Rathore and demanded a high-level enquiry.

It is to be noted that outraged at the SHO’s suicide, people in Rajgarh raised slogans against local Congress MLA Krishna Poonia and demanded an impartial probe by the CBI.
