Army jawan hangs self in Jaisalmer Military station

Naib Subedar who was posted in Jaisalmer committed suicide in his residence on Monday. Police said that no suicide note was recovered from the spot. Naib Subedar Valsalan was 46-year-old and his native place was Calicut in Kerala.

Jaisalmer: An Army jawan posted in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan in his residence at the Army station here on Monday.

The reasons of suicide are not known and no suicide note was recovered from the spot.

Naib Subedar Valsalan was 46-year-old and his native place was Calicut in Kerala.

Police said that the Naib Subedar was posted in 814 Field Work Shop Unit and his family lives in the village.

Police station officer Kishan Singh reached the spot with the team and started the investigation.

The body was taken to the state hospital where the doctor declared him dead and sent the body for the postmortem.

On behalf of the Army, a case has been lodged at the police station.

The body will be handed over to the family in the village after the postmortem.
