Internet services have been shut in Sawai Madhopur district till February 13, even as the District Collector issued a notice to Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla, asking him to vacate railway tracks.
During the total internet shutdown, all types of data services have been restricted, as per an official statement from the district administration.
Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla and his supporters began their sit-in on railway tracks in Malarna Dungar of Swai Madhopur on February 8, demanding 5 per cent quota for Gujjar, Raika-Rebari, Gadia Luhar, Banjara and Gadaria communities in jobs and education.
"We will continue the dharna on the rail tracks. No compromise was made with the government delegation. We want a 5 per cent reservation order," Bainsla had said on February 9.
On February 8, the agitators blocked NH-11 and continued their blockade from previous days at other places. Since the agitation began on Friday, it has affected the movement of more than 250 trains.
Gujjars had given a 20-day ultimatum to the state government to clear its stand on providing the quota.
Currently, the five communities are getting one-per cent separate reservation under the most-backwards category in addition to the Other Backward Class (OBC) quota.
