26 members of an extended family test COVID-19 +ve in Jaipur

Several members of an extended family tested positive for COVID-19 in Jaipur. All patients were shifted to a hospital for treatment while their locality was sealed to contain further spread.

Jaipur (Rajasthan): At least 26 members of an extended family tested positive for coronavirus disease in Rajasthan's Jaipur city on Monday.

All 26 patients were residents of Chardiwari area in the city which has been sealed as part of a precautionary measure against further spread. Also, all of them were immediately shifted to a COVID-19 hospital for treatment.

This case is the first of its kind in the state where such a large number of persons from a family have been found positive for the virus.

The total number of positive cases in the state stands at 11,020 while the death toll is 251.
