Rajasthan: 25 dead peacocks found in village of Nagaur

25 peacocks were found dead in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan, months after the spread of bird flu in Nagaur of Rajasthan. The dead peacocks found so far have been sent to Makrana, for their post-mortem. The forest department team is still conducting search operations. The reason for the deaths of the peacock is yet to be ascertained.

Nagaur (Rajasthan): Months after the spread of bird flu, 25 peacocks were found dead on Saturday in the Safed village in Nagaur of Rajasthan.

The incident began with the death of 23 peacocks on Saturday. After which the Sarpanch of the village, informed the forest department officials and the local administration.

Later, the administration teams including the Nagaur forest department carried out a search operation, in which two more peacocks and four partridges were found dead on Sunday morning.

The dead peacocks found so far have been sent to Makrana, for their post-mortem. The reason for the deaths of the peacock is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, the villagers are alleging there is rampant hunting of the wild animals by putting poisonous grains in the area.

Earlier, Avian Influenza was confirmed in the post-mortem of many bodies of wild birds in various states like Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.
