Jaipur (Rajasthan): In what might be the world's youngest COVID-19 fatality, a 20-day-old infant diead at a hospital in Jaipur on Friday.
According to the city's JK Lon hospital, a family from the city's Chandpol area brought the male infant to the hospital on May 1 after he fell ill.
The baby was admitted to the hospital at around 4 am, but unfortunately passed away at 9 am due to septicemia, a bloodstream infection.
The hospital then sent the baby's samples for testing, which later turned out to be COVID-19 positive.
Earlier in April, a one-and-a-half-month-old baby had died of coronavirus infection at a hospital in Delhi, which made him the country's youngest victim of the deadly disease at the time.
