Barmer (Rajasthan): A court in Barmer on Tuesday sentenced 10 persons to life imprisonment in a case related to the recovery of huge amount of explosives and arms, intended to be delivered to a Khalistani terrorist organisation in 2009.
In September 2009, the local police and other security agencies had seized around 15 kilos of RDX, and other arms and ammunition in Barmer district's Maroodi, situated near the Pakistan border.
"Local smugglers had been tasked with taking the explosives, foreign pistols and other arms and ammunition, which were brought in from Pakistan, and delivering it to Babbar Khalsa," said Kamal Khan, an advocate.
