Chandigarh: To ensure that police personnel are not infected with coronavirus while checking the temperature of a person, the security wing has devised a new technique here in Punjab.

The cops have developed an extension of the thermal gun using a selfie stick, which lets them practice social distancing.

Gurdeep Singh said: "The cops are checking the temperature of people, every day. To avoid getting infected from coronavirus a person should maintain a distance of 2 metres. While checking temperature it is not possible which increases the chances of getting infected."

"The Chandigarh police came up with this idea to avoid getting infected from the deadly virus," he added.

Meanwhile, about 10 devices have been developed which has been provided to the cops in different locations.
