Chandigarh:Punjab's dissident Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has been repeatedly attacking Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh over the alleged delay in delivering justice in connection with the 2015 sacrilege and police firing incidents.
The incident had taken place at Faridkot's Kotkapura in 2015 when police opened fire on people protesting the desecration of a religious text.
Targetting the Chief Minister, Sidhu tweeted on Friday, "Why after six years we are still awaiting another investigation by SIT. Since cognizable evidence is available - why not immediately arrest the main accused?? Police can easily take action in normal course!"
Sidhu, the MLA from Amritsar East, turned critical of Amarinder Singh after the Punjab and Haryana High Court last month quashed a probe report into the 2015 Kotkapura firing case.
