Punjab origin Canadian cop shot dead by unidentified gunman

The deceased has been identified as Bikramdeep Singh, a resident of Byas village in Amritsar, who had joined Canada's Delta police around 4-5 years ago.

Amritsar: In a shocking incident, a Punjab youth posted in the Canadian police was allegedly shot dead by an unidentified gunman near a Walmart store in British Columbia.

As per information, the deceased has been identified as Bikramdeep Singh, originally from Byas village in Amritsar, who had joined Canada's Delta police around 4-5 years ago.

An official of Delta police said that there was a sudden firing by an unidentified gunman in the parking area of Skautsadel central mall in which Singh lost his life.

He further said that the matter is being investigated very seriously.

Meanwhile, Singh's father Kulwant Singh Randhawa said that he is in touch with his relatives in Canada to gather further information.

Although, Canadian media has shared some visuals of the incident, the exact reason of the firing is yet to be ascertained.
