Punjab MP seeks medical college in Fatehgarh Sahib, meets Union Minister

Fatehgarh Sahib MP Amar Singh Boparai has urged Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan to sanction of medical college for Shri Fatehgarh Sahib. Dr Harshvardhan ensured Dr Amar Singh of all support and cooperation.

Chandigarh: Punjab MP Dr Amar Singh Boparai from Fatehgarh Sahib met Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in New Delhi and demanded that the Union government should sanction a medical college for Fatehgarh Sahib Constituency.

Dr Amar Singh mentioned the agricultural and industrial importance of Shri Fatehgarh Sahib.

In a letter submitted to Union Minister, Dr Singh wrote that Mandi Gobindgarh is an important industrial area and is centre for steel re-rolling and trading whereas Khanna is Asia's largest agricultural grain market and one of the main hubs of the cattle feed industry.

Sanewal, on the other hand, is the largest cluster of MSME industry in Punjab and this region employee millions of residents of Punjab and migrant labour.

During the meeting, Dr Amar Singh highlighted the problems faced by people due to lack of proper health facilities and how it causes inconvenience and financial burden on them.

He requested Union Minister to sanction of medical college for Shri Fatehgarh Sahib. Dr Harshvardhan ensured Dr Amar Singh of all support and cooperation.
