Punjab: Man kills 5 family members, commits suicide

The youth allegedly shot dead his grandmother, father, mother, sister and her three-year-old daughter with a revolver. The exact reason for the shooting is yet to be ascertained.

Moga:A 27-year-old man allegedly killed five members of his family before committing suicide here, police said on Saturday.

The shocking incident took place on Friday night at village Nathuwal under Baghapurana police station.

Sandeep Singh allegedly shot dead his grandmother, father, mother, sister and her three-year-old daughter with a revolver.

Sandeep's grandfather received bullet injuries in the incident who is being treated at a local hospital. According to him, Sandeep shot everyone and then committed suicide.

A 19-page suicide note which was found is being investigated by the police.

He was about to get married on August 12.

Meanwhile, a relative alleged that the incident happened due to a cursed land which was bought by the family.

According to a villager, the suicide note mentioned the cursed land to be the reason for his suicide.

However, police has not confirmed the reason and the investigation in the matter is underway.
