Nine Punjab Congress MPs, including senior Congress leader Manish Tiwari, attended the meeting.

Congress leader Manish Tewari said that Congress MPs have decided to raise the farmers' issues in the Parliament. Apart from this, the issues of non-payment of GST compensation and the shortage of Covid-19 vaccines in Punjab will be raised in Parliament. On the question of the election of the state President and the internal party dispute, Manish Tewari termed it an internal party matter and avoided saying anything on the issue. He also added that the party's high command's decision will be final and they will respect it.

Rajya Sabha MP Pratap Singh Bajwa, who was the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress in the past, said that he has no objection to Sidhu or any other leader becoming the state president. On describing himself as a candidate, Bajwa said that he had been the state president once and had no intention of becoming the president again.

Overall, the suspense remains on who will be the head of Congress in Punjab and no leader is ready to talk openly about it. But it is well known that the Punjab Congress is not unanimous on making Sidhu the State President.
