Chandigarh: A special video made by ETV Bharat as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary was shown to students of Gandhian studies at Panjab University.
ETV Bharat regional news co-ordinator Brij Mohan was also present during the event. Talking about the video, he explained, "The specialty of the video is that singers from across India were involved in making this song. The video was picturized in different locations of India. This video defines humanity."
The video, which was conceptualised and produced by ETV Bharat, is a rendition of "Vaishnav Jan to tene re kahiye, je peed parayee jane re, Par dukhe upkaar kare toye man abhimaan na aane re” (He is called a true “Vaishnav” who feels the suffering of another human being, and forgets that he has favoured people without taking pride over it), one of the favourite bhajans of Mahatma Gandhi.
After watching the video, the department head of Gandhian studies, Ashu Pasricha said, "The video has been beautifully made. It shows the unity of nation. I have heard this song earlier also but the way ETV has presented it is different and fantastic. This video has a deep meaning."
