Train stops ahead of damaged track in Punjab

Train 05909 Awadh-Assam express stopped ahead of a breach in the track near Mansa when the driver experienced an unusual shock avoiding a possible crash.

Mansa: A major tragedy was averted on Wednesday night when the driver of Awadh-Assam express train stopped before hitting a breach in the rail track in Punjab.

Reportedly, the express train 05909 experienced a sudden shock when it was travelling near Mansa before the driver stopped it and found a two-feet breach in the railway track.

When the incident came to light, the Railway and local police team reached the spot and took stock of the incident.

Immediately, railway technical staff also reached the place and started repair work, following which the train left for the onward journey.

An investigating has been launched into the matter.

No loss of life or property was reported.
