Ludhiana (Punjab): Covid-19 case counts in Ludhiana are on the rise due to which lockdown has been imposed between Cantonment Zone Dugri Phases I and II. While 758 patients were from the Ludhiana district, 81 patients were from outlying districts. Apart from this, 14 patients have died in the last one day which is the highest number of deaths in 21 days.
There were 19 deaths in Ludhiana on March 29. There are 75 patients admitted to government hospitals while the number has reached 507 in private hospitals. Apart from this, out of 17 patients admitted on ventilators, 11 patients belong to the Ludhiana district.
The Civil Surgeon of Ludhiana informed that the Covid cases are definitely increasing but the preparations of the Health Department are in place.
At present, they have 40 to 50 per cent beds under level 2 while the capacity of the beds in Level III is more than 90 per cent. He further said that the work of vaccination is going on continuously and people are being urged to vaccinate as much as possible. He said that so far four lakh vaccines have been given and more people will be vaccinated soon.
