New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi, on Tuesday, has made it clear to the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh that he has to work unitedly with the state unit chief Navjot Singh Sidhu. This responsibility to build coordination among the two has been given to the Punjab Congress incharge Harish Rawat.
Captain Amrinder Singh reached Delhi this morning to meet Sonia Gandhi. This meeting was held at 5:30 pm at the residence of the Congress President, where Harish Rawat was also present. During the meeting, Captain Amrinder Singh briefed Sonia Gandhi over the steps taken by his Government towards the 18-point agenda given to him by the party high command to work upon ahead of Assembly Elections in 2022.
While speaking to the media, Punjab Congress incharge Harish Rawat said, "In our last meeting with captain Amrinder Singh, some points were given to him to work upon. Today he has briefed Congress President about the progress and difficulties. Punjab is going to elections in the upcoming months. Naturally, we need to monitor issues that our state is facing and decide how to tackle them. Congress President is satisfied with the steps taken by him towards those issues."

This was the first meeting since Sidhu was appointed the Punjab Congress President. However, he continued his revolt against Capt and his Government. This matter was also discussed in today's meeting where Capt expressed his resentment over Sidhu's remarks.
