'Felt abandoned and rejected': Kavita Khanna

Kavita Khanna, the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat ticket aspirant on Friday said that she felt betrayed and insignificant after the BJP denied her a ticket from Gurdaspur constituency. She also said that she will not make it a personal issue but instead will put her entire support with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.The BJP on Tuesday evening named Deol as its candidate from Gurdaspur, a decision which is being seen as a setback to Kavita who was hopeful of getting nominated from the seat.

Gurdaspur: Kavita Khanna, wife of late Union Minister and four-time MP Vinod Khanna, on Friday said that she felt abandoned and rejected with the way BJP denied her a ticket from Gurdaspur constituency.

"I felt hurt because I understand party the has right to decide candidate but there is a way of doing it, and the way it was done I felt abandoned and rejected, I was made to feel insignificant," Kavita said.

The Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat ticket aspirant also said that she will not make it a personal issue but instead will put her entire support with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"It is my decision that I'm not going to make this a personal issue and make a personal sacrifice and put my entire might and support with Prime Minister Narendra Modi," she added.

The BJP on Tuesday evening named Deol as its candidate from Gurdaspur, a decision which is being seen as a setback to Kavita who was hopeful of getting nominated from the seat.
