Expelled BJP leader Anil Joshi reiterates support to Punjab farmers

Speaking to the media, former Punjab minister Anil Joshi said, "I stand with the farmers and so BJP has thrown me out of the party. I spoke for the rights of Punjab farmers at the Center and they found it as a lack of discipline. They can throw me out of the party, but they can't take me out of people's hearts.

Amritsar:Former state minister Anil Joshi, who was expelled by BJP for 'anti-party' activities reiterated his support to Punjab farmers. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Anil Joshi said, "I stand with the farmers and so BJP has thrown me out of the party." He further added, "I have worked for the party at the grassroot-level and strengthened the party. I have been thrown out of the party, but I feel that I have been rewarded for standing up for the farmers."

The expelled BJP leader added, "I spoke for the rights of Punjab farmers at the Center and they found it as a lack of discipline. They can throw me out of the party, but they can't take me out of the hearts of people."

The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Saturday expelled the former Punjab minister for six years for his comments against the three farm laws introduced by the Centre. State BJP general secretary Dr Subhash Sharma informed that Anil Joshi was making statements against the Central Government, party's central leadership, and policies which were anti-party activities.

The 57-year-old Anil Joshi is a two-time MLA from Amritsar North constituency in 2007 and 2012. He also served as a minister in Parkash Singh Badal's government. He lost the election in the 2017 Assembly elections.
