EC announces holiday for polling officers in Punjab on Oct 22

October 22 was announced as a holiday for presiding and polling officers in Punjab by EC on Saturday. By poll in four Assembly constituencies of the state would be held on 21 October.

Chandigarh:The Election Commission of India announced on Saturday a holiday on October 22 for presiding and polling officers of four Assembly constituencies of State where by-poll would be held on October 21, 2019.

As per ECI order, the presiding/polling officers will not be treated as absent from their normal duty, if they do not report for their duty on their normal duties on next day of polling day.
