Punjab:Gurdwara Chhan Baba Kuma Maski Sahib in Punjab's Ropar(Rupnagar) district marks the place where Guru Gobind Singh Ji's mother Mata Gujri and younger sons spent their night after being separated from their family.
ETV Bharat visited this place in remembrance of the sacrifices that the Sikh Guru and his Sahibzadas have made for the Sikhs.
On a fateful December night, Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji's family got separated from each other, particularly known as Parivar Vichora in the Sikh religion.
He and his family had vacated Sri Anandpur Sahib on a cold night in 1704. His family and other Sikhs from Anandpur Sahib paused near the Sarsa river for resting.
It was then that they were attacked by Mughals who had broken their promise of safe conduct.
While many Sikhs swept in the current of the cold Sarsa river while crossing it, some managed to cross it.
