Bullets fired outside Chandigarh Women's Congress chief's house

Bullets were reportedly fired outside the house of Chandigarh Mahila Congress chief Deepa Dubey today. The police later found two bullet shells from the spot and rounded up two suspects.

Chandigarh:Bullets were reportedly fired outside the house of Chandigarh Mahila Congress President Deepa Dubey in the wee hours of Monday.

Dubey said that two youngsters from Haryana live as tenants on the upper floor of her house, and on Sunday night 10-12 men had come to their room.

When they were questioned, the youth started abusing, Dubey said.

The Congress leader's husband tried to reason with the youth, but they kept abusing, following which Dubey complained to the police.

The police then visited the spot and left after things had cooled down.

However, at around 12.25 AM, some unidentified youngsters came out with sticks, Dubey said, adding that gunshots were heard from a park right next to her house.

Police later found two bullet shells at the spot during investigation.

Meanwhile, the police have rounded up two suspects, and has deployed security at Dubey's house.
