AAP and SAD workers protest outside Punjab Assembly

Aam Aadmi Party and the Shiromani Akali Dal staged a protest outside the Punjab assembly session. New Farm bills passed in the parliament have sparked enormous outrage with a series of intense protests being observed across the state.

Chandigarh:The Aam Aadmi Party and the Shiromani Akali Dal held a protest outside Punjab Assembly against the Central government's new farm laws.

Congress Party's Punjab President Sunil Jakhar said that the Centre may dismiss the Congress government but they will do everything possible to protect farmers' interests as these laws are designed to ruin the farmers as well as the state's agriculture and economy.

Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said that he is ready to take necessary steps to safeguard Punjab and its farmers from these laws. At this time, all party MLAs are united with the government against agricultural laws.

The Chief Minister said that this fight will continue and we will take it to the Supreme Court or avail other legal routes. This is an effort to save the agriculture and farmers of Punjab. Whatever decision will be taken on this, it will be made keeping in mind the interests of the farmer.

The Chief Minister had said he has called a special session of the assembly to bring in necessary amendments to state laws to refute the dangerous impact of the central legislations.

The farmers in the state have been holding protests demanding that the three farm laws passed by Parliament should be repealed.

Before the special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, there is fury from the Shiromani Akali Dal and Aam Aadmi Party MLAs outside the Assembly.
