271 Indians stranded in Pakistan due to coronavirus lockdown return home

About 271 Indians, who were stranded in Pakistan due to the Covid-19 outbreak, have returned to the country through the Wagah Border today. Passengers from various states will be quarantined in their home states upon arrival.

Amritsar: A batch of 271 more Indian nationals stranded in Pakistan due to the coronavirus lockdown returned to the country through the Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar on Friday.

As many as 748 Indians have registered themselves to return to the country out of which 271 Indians have returned today. Due to the coronavirus crisis, India and Pakistan had sealed their borders like other countries.

Post some relaxations in the lockdown, Indian citizens who had travelled to Pakistan before the lockdown and were stranded there, 748 of those citizens will come to India in next three days via Attari-Wagah border.

Reportedly, a batch of 250 residents of Jammu and Kashmir returned to the country via the Attari-Wagah border on Thursday.

Notably, the Indian nationals had come to Pakistan to meet their relatives and perform religious rites. As per the orders of Government of India, it will be brought back in 3 groups of 250 on June 25, 26 and 27. Passengers from various states will be quarantined in their home states upon arrival.
