Bhubaneswar: Thousands of devotees throng Lingaraj temple on the occasion of Mahashivaratri. Devotees were seen queuing outside the temple to worship Lord Shiva since the break of dawn.
Many devotees holding a fast for the entire day keep on waiting for the Mahadeep darshan which will take place in the midnight.
Dev Darshan began early morning today after the temple doors were opened at around 3 am. The Mahadeep marks the end of the puja which is scheduled to take place at around 10 pm in the night.
It is believed that devotees who fast and pray Lod Shiva on Mahashivaratri are blessed with good luck.
Additional police force has been deployed for security of the devotees and proper arrangments have been made for public convenience.
