Snakebite Victim Chooses 'Puja' Over Treatment in Odisha

A snakebite victim in Jajpur of Odisha preferred to conduct special prayers instead of going to a hospital for treatment. The victim, Ramakant Nayak was bitten by a snake while he was in his fields.

Jajpur:A snakebite victim here in Odisha on Wednesday opted to conduct prayers instead of going to a hospital for treatment.

The incident took place at Asanajhar village under Korei block in Jajpur district.

The victim, Ramakant Nayak was bitten by a snake while he was in his fields. Instead of going to a hospital, he directly went to the nearby temple.

Some social activists called an ambulance for him, but he refused to seek medical aid.

Reportedly at night, villagers gathered at the temple and hymns were chanted to save the victim's life.
