Six-year-old girl raped and murdered by a drunkard

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by a drunk man in Odisha. The residents blocked the road on Thursday midnight protesting the incident.

Khordha: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by a drunk man in Jatani town of Odisha's Khordha district. The residents blocked the road by burning tyres on Thursday midnight and gheraoed the town police station today morning protesting the incident.

The minor was reportedly gone to a neighbour's house in Munda street on Thursday evening to play with her friends.

Finding her alone, a drunk man staying nearby her house allegedly abducted and raped her. She was declared dead by the doctors when her family members rushed to the hospital after recovering the minor.

The accused hailing from Buguda NAC of Ganjam district had recently shifted to a rented house in Munda street.

The aggrieved residents beat up the accused after taking him into custody. Later police rescued him and rushed to the hospital.

Demanding justice for the minor, the local residents blocked the road in midnight and gheraoed the Jatani police station on Friday morning.
