Puri:After Odisha's Chandrabhaga beach, the Golden Beach is set to receive the coveted 'Blue Flag' tag. The international recognition is sought for beaches, marinas, and sustainable boating tourism operators as an indication of their high environmental and quality standards.
Ahead of the approval, a massive developmental drive has started to beautify the beach and to meet the total of 33 criteria that have been fixed to get the Blue Flag tag.
The Golden Beach is among eight others in India to have been recommended for the tag after consultations with respective States and Union Territories.
The certificates which the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) refers to as awards are issued on an annual basis to beaches and marinas of FEE member countries.
