Praised by PM Modi, Odia girl basks in the limelight

PM Modi was full of praise for Bhagyasri Sahu of Odisha in the last episode of “Mann ki Baat” after seeing the “Pattachittra” painted on soft stone. She was praised for putting waste materials to good use.

Rourkela (Odisha): Prime Minister Narendra Modi was full of praise for Bhagyasri Sahu of the steel town of Rourkela of Odisha in the last episode of “Mann ki Baat” after seeing the artistic “Pattachittra” painted on soft stone.

Bhagyasri is a student of Engineering (M. Tech). But her passion and hobby is painting. This has brought her glory at the national level. She had started her “Pattachitra” painting by accepting Lord Sri Jagannath of Puri as her 'guru' (teacher).

Bhagyasri first shared on social media, her “Pattachitra” with paintings on soft stone, rejected bottles, plastic bottles, acrylic bottles, clay dishes and fuse bulbs. After this, her attractive artistic works were highly acclaimed. Thereafter she had started selling her art materials in the social media. She takes about eight hours to paint a “Pattachitra” on a bottle.

Recently she paid her tributes to Subash Chandra Bose by painting a photograph of Netaji on a soft stone. For that, Prime Minister Modi in his “Mann ki Baat” programme last Sunday praised her to the skies and wished her a bright future.

Not only is the artistic expertise of Bhagyasri highly acclaimed today but also she has also been praised by the Prime Minister for putting reject and waste materials to good use.
