Subarnapur (Odisha): Amid the COVID-19 outbreak replete with gloomy stories some instances of joy are also reported in between.

The groom, Deepti Ranjan Digal, posted as sub-inspector at Subalaya police station in Odisha's Subarnapur district and bride, Jyotshnarani Digal of the same district had tied the knot in the presence of cops at the police station in Subalaya area on April 25.

The wedding of Deepti and Jyotshnarani was set to take place grandly on April 25, but the lockdown forced them to observe a humble wedding.

As Deepti Ranjan could not return to his village due to lockdown, the bride's family arrived at the Subalaya police station and the wedding rituals took place in the presence of senior police staff of the police station.

The couple tied the knot in a simple wedding ceremony devoid of the usual ‘band, bajada, and baraat’ as the country witnesses its second phase of lockdown imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus disease and Deepti Ranjan's commitment towards his duty is being praised in all quarters.
