Bhubneshwar (Odisha): BJP MLAs who were protesting against the suspension of MLA's from the state assembly withdrew their protest after meeting the party's State co-in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar.
The MLA's staged a demonstration near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the Assembly premises, protesting the suspension order of three lawmakers. The BJP MLAs were suspended after they hurled shoes at the Speaker of Odisha Assembly during the House proceedings.

Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro suspended three BJP MLAs for hurling shoes at him and hampering the dignity of his chair during the House proceedings today. Announcing theirs' suspension, Patro said the three MLAs — Jaynarayan Mishra, Bishnu Charan Sethi and Mohan Majhi, will not be allowed to attend the ongoing Assembly session.
The Opposition MLAs fumed over the passing of the Odisha Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill and also alleged that the bill was passed in the House without any debate.
